Some call it luck...

So I'm not SUPER superstitious. I'll gladly walk under a ladder. I'll break a mirror just for the drama-of-it during a good argument (so, not really, but wouldn't that be kinda fun?). And
Friday's that fall on the 13th have never really freaked me out. BUT, I so think someone is thinking of me when my nose itches (all good, I hope). I ALWAYS make strong eye contact when, "clanking," glasses after a toast (a lifetime of bad sex if you don't!). I totally make a wish on stars, eyelashes, wish bones and birthday candles. I never pick up a tails up penny. And I seriously used to think if I didn't, "shoot," my morning Q-tip right into the waste basket it meant a bad day for sure. But, my hubby doesn't think anything is about luck. Good luck, bad luck or indifferent luck (if there is such a thing) is not part of his mantra. So he didn't think a thing of it when he opened up his fortune cookie this weekend and it was... Empty. (Que the creepy mood music... reeet, reeet, reeet, reeet...)
Ok, but if you are a titchy-bit superstitious toss a little salt over your shoulder and check out this website for all the crap you need to start worrying about.

Be veh-wee, veh-wee quiet.

This whole duck hunting thing... It's complex in nature. I've never really understood it all. I would never have conceded if my Hubby hadn't finally admitted face paint is not mandatory. Gear for starters... More gear is required than I ever knew even existed (no wonder the Cabela's bill is what it is each month). First, you have waders so you can slither through the icy water to put out bags upon bags of decoys. One must always remember what goes out must come back in. Second, you can't forget you're four legged friends camo (apparently ALWAYS Advantage Camouflage) so she doesn't sink (or catch a chill). Finally, multiply all of that by two in case your spouse decides to (gets talked into) tag along. The next part is the worst... You gotta, "think like a gopher," and get up at the butt crack of dawn in the most inclement of conditions. No doubt, I would rather stay nuzzled in here. After all is said and done it's a game of calling (try the, "lonesome hen," it goes, "digga, digga, dooga, dooga) and waiting, and waiting and waiting. Or film a video so you will
NEVER be invited back again...

"A Gamma Phi and a Guy..."

"... in a little canoe..." If I have any Gamma Phi Beta (Gamma Pi) readers out there you know just what I am talking about. For all ya all others-it's a long story. Speaking of a long story-do I deserve the, "Best Wife of the Year Award," or what? My hubby, the avid upland game hunter, has been obsessing about birds. He has spend many-a-long hours, and who knows how many gallons of gasoline, scouting for the best possible spot to call in the birds (calling birds is a whole nother story...). So anywho we loaded up the, "stealth," boat and headed out to the Crow River. I was a titch crabby I didn't get the heads up flip flops were not the appropriate footwear for dragging the damn boat though the weeds and woods to the water (dock 2 points from Wife of the Year rating). We finally arrived at the water's edge and set official sail (if paddling your hinney off counts as, "setting sail."). We came up on a whole herd of canines frolicking in the CHILLY water. Of course we couldn't resist letting Miss Kato partake in the fun, and she couldn't resist taking a HUGE poop on the beach (we didn't have a poop bag-and had to bug a group of strangers). We regrouped and effortlessly cruised on down the river marveling at a bald eagle that kept circling over head (it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!) and I was so mesmerized by how close he was to us I couldn't take my eyes off of him long enough get a photo (sorry). By this time Miss Kato was shivering from her romp in the CHILLY water I was telling you about, so of course I ordered my hubby to give her his sweatshirt (looking back now, I guess I should dock 2 more points). Life was good, until we decided to turn around... We underestimated how steady the current is and at one point we absolutely COULD NOT maneuver the boat through a channel! Both of us screaming at each other to, "GO! Dig Deeeeep! Paddle!," and each attempt we would fly backwards in reverse. After about 3 trys, my cleavage sweat was full on, and my hubby finally got out and pushed us through the channel. Mental note: add 2 points for him.

$65.00 + Tip

Holy Haircut! Jerrid gets the BEST and probably most expensive boy haircuts E-V-E-R! I would like to think I have shown him the light and guided him on his journey from the $12.00 uni-haircut (you know what I mean-same cut all guys - #1 on the sides and #2 on the top blended not so well) from Great Clips to the perfectly clipped tresses from Juut Salon. Just how expensive has this evolution been you are perhaps wondering? Jerrid now happily hands over his battered check card to the tune of $65.oo + tip. I know! Here is the deal. He (and I) love Juut. This place is totally hip and everyone there is cute and trendy (not in a freaky kind of facial piercing sort of way-although they have a couple of those too) which is always a good sign. They massage your head to stress relieve before your cut and they use the best Aveda products on this earth to perfectly sculpt your perfectly finished "do". You may think this is all worth the $65.00 + tip, but I haven't told you the mane (get it?) attraction (get it?) to this salon de beaute... Jennifer. Beautiful, sweet, funny Jennnifer. Jerrid LOVES her. She gives him the perfect "not just cut" haircut every time, massages his dark, chocolate colored head-o-hair and maybe just maybe does his ego a little good too (hence the $65.00 + tip). (Jennifer if there is any chance you are reading this you know I love you too-I wouldn't trust another!) I tried to capture this fresh cut of his-but as you see my model was less than cooperative.

P.S. Sorry to disappoint for those of you who were tuning in for the big reveal of what we did last night... We had a little hiccup in our original plans-no worries I will bring you up to speed in the near future. BUT I am a gal of my words so here is what really happens behind the scenes at Casa 34b... Yes that is a Stella Artois AND a bag of pet ownership in my SAME hand (multitasking at its finest). After the walk (50 degrees!) we picked up a lot of this from this culprit! Well you asked...

Ok all my pooper-scooper bloggers come back around tomorrow for a little Catholic humor.

The fabulous world of MANscaping

Today we tackle a taboo sort of topic head on (you sicko) with a Philips Norelco and a fresh pack of double A batteries. Right now my hubby is shakin' in his boxer briefs that I may spill the beans on what happens behind locked bathroom doors. Honey, your secret is safe with me (and my poor coworkers who have already heard the first hand account). Listen boys grooming is a must (even in those hard to reach sort of areas) no matter what you been told. So today I am doing my part to make sure that all those lucky ladies in your lives are just a little happier. This informative web site kindly provided by Philips Norelco will discuss how to tackle trimming items like these guys..... and this thang... and in between this dark and scary place... I refuse to even go here...

This web site is hilarious and will give you a first hand (sick) lesson on the ways of man grooming. It is a MUST see: http://www.shaveeverywhere.com/. May I suggest two areas of expertise in case you are in a pinch for time? Be sure to go to the word "body" at the lower right hand corner of the screen to hear the introduction. Then be sure to tune into the section under the main menu titled "where to shave" as it is a treasure trove of knowledge. Enjoy, alright?

See you tomorrow for Fashion Friday? Perhaps a hint for all the bikini waxing bloggers? Think a nineties hit by Sisqo...
